My Birthday Tribute: Poe

“Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night.”
~Edgar Allan Poe

Today is my birthday, and I am honored to share it with Edgar Allan Poe, born January 19th 1809. Poe was a brilliant writer, and I love his work. I admire the deep sentiment within his work, which draws you in. His style is not for everyone, it’s sometime long and daunting, but there is beauty laced within the lines that you must keep reading to find.

     Quotes by Poe:

I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.

What are your thoughts on Poe?

  1. I love Poe’s writings! And his life was mysterious and intriguing just like his writings. He definitely was a dark, little, mysterious man with a beautiful talent in words.

  2. Happy Birthday! I hope you have a wonderful day 🙂 Poe was a major influence when I first began writing poetry. I love the beautiful melancholy of his work. My birthday is Poe’s death day. I used to joke that I was his reincarnation 😛

  3. Happy Birthday! And this is a quote about place of birth from ‘Berenice’:
In that chamber was I born. Thus awaking from the long night of what seemed, but was
not, nonentity, at once into the very regions of fairy-land —into a palace of imagination
—into the wild dominions of monastic thought and erudition
