There are so many creative way to display books, but of all of them hidden bookshelf doors are my favorite! I have a small home so I can really appreciate any idea that saves space, and adds a little quirky
fun design to a house.
Here are some great book doors. This first one gives me all kinds of ideas.
I think this is such a great idea, what an awesome way to utilize all the space in your home. If it was me, inside that door would be a cozy little book nook getaway!
I am such a fan of the sliding hidden shelves! Not only does it save space but it is also a bit of fun I think.
This one may be my favorite (design wise,) but I’m not sure, they are all so lovely. I think this one is a bit more obvious then the others though…
I love the color and molding.I love that there are even more books going up the stairs on the walls behind the secret shelf. This is clearly a bibliophile who has found a solution to Tsundoku.
I think the modern sleekness of this shelf is so beautiful. The clean lines and
gorgeous wood is amazing.
And then we have it’s opposite, I also love this rustic oddball. The wood is so pretty, and I dig the funky old world feel.
Do any of you have a hidden bookshelf door or something similar?
Whoa. This appeals to both the bibliophile and supervillain in me …

Now I have to stop myself from removing all my doors and replacing them with book doors!

BUT WHY!?! 🙂 I know I know we must reserve a reasonable level of practicality in our houses. We must way awesome against functionality. 🙂

I have a room filled with books and I think a book door would be great for it. I’m going to “suggest” to my partner that he makes me one 🙂

Aren’t they amazing, I don’t have one, but I am thinking of ways to incorporate one, or at least something like it, into my home.

Fascinating! Books have taken over two rooms in the house now and there are books in all the other rooms, at some point I may be forced out? 😉
When I first met someone who was to become a dear friend he said, the first thing I notice when visiting someone’s home the first time are what books are on the shelves? What are they reading? That made perfect sense to me and I would hate for them to be ‘hidden’. 🙂

That’s probably the first thing I notice as well. 🙂 I want mine beautifully adorning walls, doors, and various surfaces!

I’m afraid it would be difficult to do all those built-ins here in my narrow but tall home… Just so I have easy access. 🙂

That would make it difficult.

As long as there are plenty of good books within easy reach, I’m okay. 🙂

Just wondering how the books won’t fall off when opening these doors… But I definitely like the idea!
