It is a day of love, and how better
to express that love, than with a love-poem:
There is no Frigate like a Book
To take us Lands away
Nor any Coursers like a Page
Of prancing Poetry –
This Traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of Toll –
How frugal is the Chariot
That bears the Human Soul –
Fun Fact: “
There is No Frigate Like a Book” comes from a letter written in 1873, and was actually originally published in Volume I of her Letters
(1894), not in a book of poems.
Love is in the air!
