I am a big fan of Fantasy Fiction but I am also very particular and picky about which books and series I choose to read, and eventually which books I like.
Here are the top 2 Fantasy Fiction books on my TBR:
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
I have nearly started this series SO many times, and I keep kicking myself for still not having started it. I have wanted to read it for so long, and have extremely high hopes for it, I just hope that I will love it as much as I anticipate.
Outlander is a New York Times bestseller, and has earned the praise of critics and captured the hearts of millions of fans. The story introduces two great characters, Claire Beauchamp Randall and Jamie Fraser, in a spellbinding novel of passion and history that combines exhilarating adventure with a love story for the ages.

Graceling by Kristin Cashore
This book was recommended to me by a fellow blogger, and once I checked it out, it quickly made it to my list of books to read.
Another best seller and award winner.
Graceling tells the story of the vulnerable yet strong Katsa, a smart, beautiful teenager who lives in a world where selected people are given a Grace, a special talent that can be anything from dancing to swimming. Katsa’s is killing. She is forced to use her extreme skills as his thug. Along the way, Katsa must learn to decipher the true nature of her Grace.

Have you read either of these books, what did you think? No spoilers please 😉
I haven’t read either but look forward to as I have added them to my list of must reads. Thank you for pointing them out to us.

I tried to read Graceling a while ago and I don’t really liked it, I think that the main character is too annoying. But I understand that it’s a very popular book so maybe you like it 😊😊

I read Outlander and did not like it. (two stars out of five.) The level of sex and violence exceeds my taste. I found the main characters tiresome and did not care what happened to them. For a comparison, my five-star books in this category are the Arthurian novels by Mary Stewart. I should add that my taste usually runs counter to what is on the current best-seller list.

My taste often does as well, and it’s one of the reasons I keep putting off Outlander; I am worried about being disappointed. I will check out those novels, thank you for the suggestion 🙂

I loved Outlander. I read it many years ago and must have been in the mood for it because I completely enjoyed it. She’s written plenty of others that have followed on from this one but this is the one I remember.

I haven’t read Outlander, but am hooked on the Netflix series. Watch an episode when I eat lunch. Love it. Must read the book.
I started a new fantasy series (Trilogy) Recompense and Betrayal by Michelle Isenhoff. Outstanding series that kept me up very late because I couldn’t put it down. The third book is due out I think next week. Isenhoff is an exceptional author. Her plots are strong and you really get into her characters. You might want to check them out. Hope to review soon.

I will share my audible favorites soon. Audible is a such a great tool for getting through the mountain of must reads I have, when I just don’t have the time for them all.

Have you tried the Powder Mage series? I couldn’t put them down. Personally I liked them WAY more than Outlander, but that’s just me.

Graceling sounds like an awesome premise to play with! I don’t know why someone would choose “killing” though.

Not saying I’m any good or anything, but I’m writing fantasy fiction and it’s free on my blog. I would love any kind of feedback if you have the time.

So pleased Sandperson isn’t on this list. Boy do I get tired of all the hype that sand golem gets.
