Tonight I have the amazing privilege of meeting Stephen King. He is touring with his son Owen King for their new collaborative novel Sleeping Beauties. This is such an exciting opportunity, and I am counting the minutes! 


So this boasts the question, what do I ask Stephen King?

Stephen Edwin King born September 21, 1947
He is an American author of horror, supernatural fiction, suspense, science fiction, and fantasy. His books have sold more than 350 million copies, many of which have been adapted into feature films, miniseries, television series, and comic books. King has published 54 novels, including 7 under the pen name Richard Bachman, and 6 non-fiction books. He has written nearly 200 short stories, most of which have been collected in book collections. Many of his stories are set in his home state of Maine.

His novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption was the basis for the film The Shawshank Redemption (widely regarded as one of the greatest films of all time.)


So In my contemplation of this pivotal event, I decided I wanted to bring it to all of you. I want to discover from a myriad of perspectives, if you had the chance, what would you ask ?

For those curious, here is a little tidbit on the much anticipated new novel Sleeping Beauties:

Sleeping Beauties
 by Stephen and Owen King

A 700-page tome that is part plague thriller and part fable. It’s the story of a sleeping sickness (nicknamed “Aurora” after Disney’s drowsy princess) that overtakes all the women and girls of the world, leaving the men of the planet to sort things out on their own. Guess how that works out.


I cannot express how excited I am to get my hands on this book!
I have been in agony waiting to read it, because I wanted to hold out until I had the special copy I will receive tonight (okay I am a bit sentimental.) This book is going to have it all, suspense, fantasy, character, and even hints of fairytale. It would almost seem too good to be true, if it wasn’t produced from the genius intensity of King!

  2. The synopsis makes me laugh, don’t get me wrong I am SO excited for this book…but I feel the only way this book could be made by a man, is by having TWO men write it 😂😂😂

  5. That book sounds SOOO interesting. I think it’s kind of cool that two men are writing it (in response to the comment above). Their able to critique/satirize a category that they’are a part of shows a lot of humility. I may have to check this one out….As for what to ask him, that is a HARD question.

  6. How exciting! I haven’t read this one, yet, but I may be listening to the audio soon on Audible. As for what I would ask him . . . I might ask him if he still plays rock n roll with Dave Barry. 😀

  10. I am not a thriller kinda of reader, but truly love Stephen King’s first movie “Carrie”. I’m way to chicken after seeing that to read anything else! BUT, I do have and cherish his book, on writing. Dang, can’t think of the name sorry. Mr. King shares his childhood love of writing and personal stories that inspire one to pursue ones passion to write. I especially like his advice, sometimes you have to take out or cut out your ” darlings” on the rewrites. Excellent advice! My question, “What was your favorite darling you had to leave behind?”

    Stephen King isn’t my favorite writers, a good book
    from him is It. If you’re a reader from stephen’s book
    You’re an expert about Castle Rock.
    A question could be gimme the method to muses
    around you in order to writing lots of books through the years. Or could be existing a muse called Stephen King

  17. Wow! I would soadd that to my list if I could read books any more(lost half my eyesight so can no do these days) I guess the men would need to sort it out quickly right and wake up the woman before life died out? Cheers,H

  24. So freaking jealous!! The only thing I would say to King would be “thank you for the gift of your brilliant imagination. Thank you for allowing me the experience of escaping in to your words. Thank you!” Also “why are you so awesome? ” lol

  28. Stephen King…what a great author. His books have scared the crap out of me for years. “It”, terrified me so I couldn’t sleep and any noise was a clown trying to get in the house. I would ask how he keeps himself happy with thoughts so …..so….terrifying.
