The headlines are aglow with news of the deaths of Carrie Fisher Dec. 27th 2016 and her mother Debbie Reynolds just one day later Dec. 28th 2016. Both were renowned actors and famous for iconic roles. However remarkably they were both incredible authors as well.
So as is fitting for my book blog…
Here are a couple of there works to remember them by:

For a little bit more in depth and personal account of her like Debbie writes this autobiography. It tells her story of growing up in Hollywood during its golden age in the 50’s, and what it was like to share center stage with stars such as Grace Kelly and Frank Sinatra. She also describes her marriages with Eddie Fisher and Harry Karl.

I grew up in the 50’s and Debbie Reynolds was every boys dream (very un-PC I know), but who cares about pc when you are over 70? :-o)

FYI I couldn’t find The Princess Diarist anywhere on the 28th, including online unless you want to put up $400 for a signed copy, but I ordered it from Amazon anyway and it is now getting ready to ship. I expect we’ll see a bunch hit the store shelves again very soon.

Thank you for this post. I found it very sad and moving that they should “go” so close to one another. And in the case of Carrie Fisher, sadder even since she was “getting back” on her feet after years of oblivion. She was such a young woman when fame “hit” her. And she enjoyed her comeback only so briefly. Very sad indeed. Soooo. Thank you for your post.
