Since you seem to be quite a fan of Jane Austen, you might be interested in reading “Longbourn” by Jo Baker, which is (sort of) a takeoff on “Pride and Prejudice”. I will review that book soon on Goodreads.

Yes, I certainly enjoyed it, but I thought it was very much more Thomas Hardy meets Bernard Cornwell (the Sharpe series) than anything resembling Jane Austen.
