A Farewell to Arms is probably the first book that I ever read that absolutely refused to let me go when I was finished with it. Pretty sure I walked around in a funk for a couple days after finishing it.

I like Hemingway, though he can be a little depressing. A Farewell to Arms is probably my favorite.

My favorite Hemingways are his short stories. I don’t know another writer who could say so much with so few words.

I always love the irony that one of the few Hemingway novels that I haven’t read is the one that most have if they have read him at all… The Old Man and the Sea.

I agree with Don regarding Hemingway’s short stories, like “A Clean, Well-Lighted Place.” So simple, yet so profound.
