Coffee Alternative
Heaven forbid
you should need
to stop drinking
coffee, or
find yourself
without it!
However, if you had to drink something else, or if you just like to mix it up, what would you choose?
Hi there! I’ve been reading the Howl’s Moving Castle series of books lately as I drink yerba mate, an Argentinean kind of tea.

Ooh I haven’t heard of that, I’m going to look into that! 🙂

Howl’s Moving Castle is the first book in the series (it was also made into an anime a few years back). There are two books after it and I’m on the second one. Check it out, they’re all amazing! https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6294.Howl_s_Moving_Castle?from_search=true&search_version=service By Diana Wynne Jones.

Just started reading Howl’s Moving Castle last night! I’m almost finished. It’s so good! I don’t have the other books in the series but I’m definitely going to seek them out now!

I didn’t even realize there were more of them until I poked around Goodreads and stumbled on them by accident. The second one doesn’t immediately seem like a sequel but hang in there, it apparently loops back! It’s very Aladdin-esque.

I actually don’t drink coffee- just tea- but my preference would always be hot chocolate!!

It’s still winter, so hot chocolate, a blanket, and one of the four books I’m currently reading.

A world without coffee, better have chocolate!

I love tea also, but I drink coffee more often. And if I’m not writing, I am catching up on my pile of books to be read. 🙂

That’s how I am as well, I love tea, but coffee is my first love.

I don’t drink coffee, it actually makes me feel sleepy… 😀 I do love tea, though, especially green tea; I also have this wonderful tea called Women’s Energy Tea, very revitalizing. Hot chocolate at this time of the year is wonderful as well!
As for books… well, I’m supposedly to study to gather background material for my BA Thesis (yes, we have to write one here in Finland, minimum of 15 pages for a ‘mini-study’), but I keep getting distracted… Internet linguistics is my subject, so I’ll have to check books and articles on that.
For some time now I have tried to go through my own bookshelf, to see if there’s any books I could pass on to someone else. I’ve gotten as far as to the letter D, as I’ve arranged my books in the alphabetical order according to the author’s surname, and if there are series they go from part 1 to part X of course… The next time I have 4 hours to spend, I’ll read Sylvia Day’s “Entwined With You” (I like reading books in one go if I just can…). 😀
I also have a collection of Yeats’ poems from the library. 🙂 I read a poem or two at a time, sometimes more if they are short. I’ve enjoyed his works so far.

I haven’t counted my books in a while, but yes, there are quite many… and I’d love to have even more!

Totally a tea person. Can’t do the coffee thing. And it has to be decafe because why would I inflict a caffeinated version of myself on people? That would be scary! I’m currently reading several manga series, but my favourite is “Library Wars – Love and War” which is a must-read for all book lovers 😀

Unfortunately the non-caffeinated version of myself is the scary one. 🙂

Not to push religion but I am currently reading Glory Days by Max Lucado and I really enjoy it. Next on my list, I’m excited to read another book from him called Miracle at the Higher Grounds Cafe which involves an old fashioned coffee shop. Nothing like a good cuppa coffee to make reading more enjoyable. My favorite is cappuccino! I like the strong stuff! haha (but it has to have milk)

I drink tea almost as much as coffee, but which type depends on my mood, though I tend to stay away from black tea more than green and herbal. I especially love Constant Comment’s Green blend. It’s awesome! But I’ll dip into Starbucks for a London Fog every now and then, too. ^_^

No coffee? What fresh hell is this?! Only joking. 😉
I used to be terribly addicted to coffee. I suppose I still am, but I just manage it a little better these days. Now after my two coffees of a morning I mainly drink either peppermint or jasmine tea. Peppermint for digestion, jasmine for any tummy cramps. Some people add honey to jasmine, but I prefer it plain.
Red wine is also a huge favourite, but I don’t think it’s probably a good replacement for a morning beverage!
As for my current reading list; I’ve just finished The Bandini Quartet by John Fante!

Haha, I know that pain 🙂 Peppermint tea and Jasmine are two of my favorites!

I only drink coffee in the morning! Black tea from then onwards – many cups of it 🙂

I like coffee when I first wake up, but I get most tempted for it after dinner. Luckily coffee doesn’t seem to have a negative affect on my sleep.

Green tea or black tea with milk. I love matcha but it’s hard to justify the cost!
Currently reading The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler and so far it’s exactly what I’d expect 😛

Matcha is good, and yes spendy. Regular green tea is pretty amazing too though. 🙂

I drink my coffee black and I prefer light roasts. I am currently reading Thucydides “History of the Peloponnesian War”, Mary Beard’s “SPQR”, Aristotle “Nicomachean Ethics”.

If it’s too late in the day for tea then I have green tea or a tea latte.

I don’t have a problem admitting that coffee is the boss of me. If I’m trying to disprove this to myself, I’ll make some black tea. Or, I’m all about Ginger Beer!

I don’t really like coffee, but if I had it, I would drink it black. I’m all-in for tea. If I had to do without either…that would be a problem because I need the caffeine! Years ago, as a twenty- and thirty- something, I drank no caffeine, so I guess I could survive.

It would definitely be a “survival” 🙂 not fun at all.

None. Strict no irritating food: no coffe, no chocolate, no wine, yek! Hot milk in the morning! re-yek. 🙂 I hope the restraining order will be lifted soon. 😉

I love coffee, but I have to say, that lady on SharkTank advertising her fancypants tea made me want to try it. Every season, I am hooked on Starbucks’ iced gingerbread latte.

Coffee, cappuccino, chai tea latte, chai tea, if we are out of those, someone had better be making a run to the store or Starbucks. I am just getting ready to start reading Elizabeth Gilbert’s Big Magic, Creative Living Beyond Fear.

What a terrible concept?! The only acceptable alternative for me would be a smoothie… but it still may not work well lol

I know, that trouble for me is that I like and drink all those things anyway. So, I would still feel the weight of my coffee missing. 😦 Not a happy thought.
