Blustery Days

We have been having some insane weather here in Portland.
Crazy wind and rain, everything flooding, the works. When you look out your window and people are traveling via canoe,
you know these are bona fide Blustery days!

My solution of course is to hunker down with a nice cup of coffee,
and you guessed it, curl up with a good book.download
There is a beauty to the sights and sound of rain, and a
magic that is there if we embrace it.PWHydrolRainfall
Sure it can be dangerous and it can make you soggy. But now what better excuse for a hot cup of your favorite steamy drink, and a cozy sweater or blanket to melt the brittleness away.

The beauty is in the opportunity to appreciate our conveniences,

So take a moment, breath in the dewy breeze
(or gusts if you are anywhere near pdx.)
If you can take the time to read or write (or meditate in the way that suits you,) I think you would be glad you did.

  7. What a great post. Well, here in Australia it’s hot and humid but if I was curled up with a good book, a hot coffee and a warm fireplace I think I’d be in heaven! And I’d probably be reading something by Harlan Coben. Love a good thriller.

  8. Wonderful post – and blog! I have the opposite weather where I am right now, but still gets chilly. No matter the weather, December is always a magical time to me and I end up reading Fantasy. I just started Eragon, which I have’nt read before, and it’s turning out perfect for the season. Cheers!

      • You know I ducked it for years. I thought it be pretentious, full of clichés but it actually isn’t -so far. If you enjoyed “How to train your Dragon” then you may like this book. How’s yours coming?

      • Unfortunately (well in a matter of speaking) since that time my TBR list has grown immensely… So I don’t know how long it will be till I get to it again 🙂 The book is going slowly but surely, it’s a bit hard to get into. Probably because I unfortunately saw the movie first, which takes away some natural intrigue.

    • I know how you feel I used to get so frustrated, lights were always left for someone else. It’s a good thing lights are a bit cheaper than they used to be! Now, we use cardboard to keep them tangle free, and I am a happy camper.
