I can’t binge read – I fall asleep at night 🙂

It doesn’t always happen at night for me. I have been late, missed bus stops, forgotten to eat, all in the name of a great read. I’m not proud, but it’s happened 🙂

The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton. I am not even sure that it is a good book, but it certainly has a compulsive quality for me.

Everything I’ve read lately is just okay. Nothing I would recommend. 😦 I feel bad about that. Some I just stopped reading, since I think it’s a waste of time to read a book I don’t care about. Always searching for the one that will keep me up all night.

I feel the same way, there are so many books I want to get around to reading. So, after a certain amount of time and effort, if it doesn’t keep my interest, I will often abandon a book, or just forget I was reading it.

I do binge read. I also read multiple books at once……

Me too! I discovered that 3 is my limit if I really want to enjoy what I’m reading, but at least 1 has to be non-fiction.

I used to be able to read until falling asleep, but now I fear the Kindle giving me a black eye. (Soft book in the face not so painful.)

Yikes, you could probably finangle a pillowy case for it… Or contrive some mechanism so it hangs of the wall like mechanical arm… I think I’m wearing my bookophilia on my sleeve. As well as my tendency to make up words 🙂

I wish I had time to binge read like I used to. But now I’m lucky to get 30-60 minutes here or there. But the other day when I should’ve been doing other things, I did keep reading JK Rowling’s latest (Career of Evil). I was so close to the end, I just had to finish it.

My last binge read was Tess D’Ubervilles I like the classics and I just kept wanting to know where it was all headed. I like being transported in time especially to try and relate how it may have been for a woman.

Hi Abbie:) I am finishing up my day in the Word, but as you “happen” to ask, was in a book store just yesterday! And as I live 30 miles from town, and a good 70 miles from any major book store, a trip to the book store to linger up and down the aisles is pure heaven! I am a “book” reader. I want to feel the pages between my fingers. At this time of year, I do like to reread “Shepherds Abiding” by Jan Karon, but I will wait a week for that yet. Kinda save it for right up in the Holidays. The book I picked up, (on sale too!) is “The Circle Maker” by Mark Batterson. Looking forward to “praying circles around my biggest dreams” which is what I need to be doing now:) Looking forward to visiting more with you:)

I can’t binge read except at night because my two dogs demand my attention. And, if I stay up too late they get me up early for their breakfast. The latest book I read was “The Boston Girl” by Anita Diamant. I didn’t like it as much as The Red Tent, but I couldn’t put it down. There is something so comforting about reading a good story with a character you like. Thanks for liking my blog!
